It is thanks to the kindness and generosity of our supporters that Sue Lambert Trust can continue to be there for people who have experienced sexual assault and sexual violence. As a small charity, our services are in constant high demand. But you can help.
- 1in 12 people in Norfolk have experienced sexual abuse and sexual violence at some point in their lives
- 150 survivors are currently on our waiting list to receive the specialist counselling and support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
Making these specialist, life-altering services available to our clients, in return for no payment, makes a big impact.
As Christmas approaches, we graciously ask you to gift your support to Sue Lambert Trust so those who have bravely spoken up, and need support to heal, can access our counselling sooner.
Whether through regular giving, volunteering or even simply spreading the word on social media, there are so many ways you can raise money and awareness for our charity.
Give a gift that will give someone living in Norfolk the chance to heal.
1. Resolve to make a regular donation
With 2026 just around the corner, you may be compiling a list of resolutions for the New Year. Why not commit to supporting Sue Lambert Trust with a regular donation?
It’s simple to set up, and – let’s face it – a resolution we’d all be more likely to keep!
Whether it’s £2 or £20 per month, your gift provides a stream of income that means we can plan our vital services into the future.
And, if you’re a UK taxpayer, please don’t forget to Gift Aid your donation. We can claim an extra 25p on every pound without further cost to yourselves. That’s an extra £12.50 on a £50 donation, which goes a long way for a small charity.

2. Donate the cost of Christmas cards
Worried about missing the Christmas post, not a fan of writing lots of cards, or want to take a positive step for the environment?
Save yourself a seasonal job and donate the cost of this year’s Christmas cards to Sue Lambert Trust instead.
Each of us sends 16 cards, on average, every year. That’s a cost of £27.20 in first-class stamps alone!
Donate £25 to our charity and help people who have experienced sexual violence and sexual abuse get the counselling they need to heal.
3. Fundraise while you shop
If you’re shopping for Christmas presents online, did you know there’s an easy way to support us at the same time, without it costing you an extra penny?
Sign-up for free to easyfundraising (Sue Lambert Trust Fundraising | Easyfundraising), choose the charity you wish to support before you shop online, and the retailers will make a donation to us.
So far, almost £150 has been raised by kind shoppers through the scheme – enough to fund at least one specialist therapy session to transform the life of a survivor of sexual violence.
4. Declutter to raise vital funds
As Christmas approaches, are you looking at overflowing toy baskets and wardrobes, wondering where new gifts will fit in?
So many of us are lucky to have more than we need. Now’s the ideal time to declutter playrooms and bedrooms to make extra space in your house before the big day arrives.
And then, do some good.
Why not sell any preloved, good-quality items using online apps, or even local table-top sales and car boot sales, and donate some of the money you raise?
You’ll have a calm, decluttered home just in time for Christmas, your buyers will have lovely items to enjoy or gift to loved ones, and Sue Lambert Trust will receive a festive fundraising boost.
5. Get into the party spirit
Is your workplace throwing a big Christmas office party, are you organising a festive community event, or are you hosting a gathering for friends and family at your home, complete with delicious picky-bits and cocktails?
Any time people come together is a great opportunity to raise funds for Sue Lambert Trust.
You could organise quizzes and raffles, or even a simple charity collection, to offer a fundraising boost just before Christmas.
6. Be a big-hearted business
If you run or work for a big-hearted Norfolk business, perhaps you’re looking to make a big difference in your local community?
Do you have space by your tills for a Sue Lambert Trust collection tin? Our collection tins allow customers to donate as they pay, plus help spread awareness of who we are and what we do.
If you want to make a longer-term impact, and you’re looking to partner up with a Charity of the Year, please consider Sue Lambert Trust for 2026 and extend your support throughout the next 12 months.
Donating a small percentage of your profits over a set period would also not only provide a continuous stream of income but could encourage people to buy your products and services knowing they would be supporting a worthy cause.
Alternatively, offering your employees a salary sacrifice scheme is also an effective way to give. Payroll giving is simple and tax efficient as the donation is taken from your gross salary before tax, making your money go even further.

7. Challenge yourself in 2026
If you’re taking the New Year as a prompt to try new things, why not sign-up to a fundraising fitness challenge in 2026?
There are local events, such as Run Norwich or the Tour de Broads, or perhaps you got lucky in the London Marathon ballot!
There’s nothing like knowing your efforts will be supporting a good cause to motivate you through the tough winter training months. And, if you’re an employee, please check whether your company will match your fundraising to give your total that extra boost.
If fitness challenges aren’t your thing, organising your own fundraiser would be a great way to make a difference. Bake sales, coffee mornings or table-top sales are all ways to bring people together and raise money.
8. Give your time
Giving back by donating your time is just as valuable to us. Plus, volunteering for a charity has enormous benefits for your mental health, wellbeing and opens up new opportunities as you meet new people and develop your workplace skills.
We are always looking for experienced, qualified counsellors to volunteer time to Sue Lambert Trust and work with our clients in the counselling room to help people heal, rebuild and move forward after the trauma of sexual abuse.
Importantly, you’ll be helping to keep our professional therapy accessible to all our clients. There is no charge to our clients for our 12-month counselling programme, support services or group work, meaning everyone who self-refers to us can get support, no questions asked.
Sue Lambert Trust provides a supportive and kind environment for volunteer counsellors, including a thorough induction, essential safeguarding training, and continuous professional development opportunities. You can find out more here – Counsellors | Sue Lambert Trust
We also need volunteers who are not counsellors.
Sue Lambert Trust organises fundraising events throughout the year and we always need extra help to spread the word about why our work matters. If you can spare a few hours, please get in touch.
Businesses can volunteer too, or give services in kind. Perhaps you could help us with printing leaflets or capturing photos, or if you’re brilliant at organising events, and love interacting with the public, join us at an event to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
Email info@suelamberttrust.org to enquire about upcoming opportunities.
9. Pledge a gift in your will
The turn of a year is often a time for reflection. For some, that can mean a resolution to get their life admin in order – and that can include creating or updating a will.
After you’ve taken care of your loved ones and those closest to you, we would be delighted if you would consider pledging a legacy gift in your will to Sue Lambert Trust.
What an incredibly meaningful way to start the New Year, knowing you’ve put plans in motion to make a real impact and create a lasting legacy that stretches beyond your lifetime.
To speak to someone at Sue Lambert Trust about leaving a gift in your will, please call 01603 622406 or email info@suelamberttrust.org.
10. Share our work on social media
At Sue Lambert Trust, we stand with survivors every day, having supported 597 people in 2024 alone – and you can help us tell their story of courage.
Our work is in constant high demand. More people than ever before are reaching out to us, ready to talk, to access therapy, and to heal. We know there are many more survivors out there currently coping with trauma, often in silence.
By interacting with us on social media, you can help signpost more people towards the help we provide, and make sure we reach a wider audience of businesses, MPs and funders – people who need to be aware of the life-changing, healing impact Sue Lambert Trust has on the lives of hundreds of people in Norfolk.
Follow us on Facebook , Instagram and Linkedin to share and engage with our content today.
However you choose to support us at Christmas or throughout the year – thank you.
We appreciate every donation, social media comment and hour of your time.
Your support means we can continue providing specialist counselling support to survivors of sexual abuse and sexual violence and give our clients the chance to heal.
