In this feature, get to know some of our team at Sue Lambert Trust. This time we meet Patricia, our Fundraising Assistant who loves music, history, and turning passion into action for the causes she cares about.

What lead you to your role at Sue Lambert Trust?

My journey into fundraising started with face-to-face fundraising. I really threw myself in at the deep end! It was challenging, but also magical. I met incredible people who genuinely believed in the causes they supported, and that connection has always been the most rewarding part of fundraising for me.

Before joining Sue Lambert Trust, I worked as a Campaigns Officer for a charity in London, working closely with government, parliament and policy arenas in championing the public interest in sound science.  That experience really shaped how I think about communication, trust, and the importance of making information accessible and meaningful.

I first came across Sue Lambert Trust during my student years at the University of East Anglia. I was sadly all too familiar with how important their services were and often found myself recommending the charity to friends who needed support. So when I saw the opportunity to join the team, I was honestly overjoyed. It felt like such a full-circle moment to be able to work for an organisation that has meant so much to people I care about.

How would you summarise your role at Sue Lambert Trust?

My role is a bit of a mix, really. It brings together event planning, marketing, and community-building, all with the goal of raising awareness and funds for the incredible work the charity does.

What do you like most about working for Sue Lambert Trust?

Honestly, the people. The office chat is always brilliant, and everyone brings such a wide range of experiences to the table. I especially love hearing from our counsellors, many of whom came into counselling at different stages in their lives. Learning about their backgrounds and what inspired them is always deeply inspiring and insightful.

What do you like doing in your spare time, what are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I’m a bit of a music nerd. I collect records and I love reading about music history. I also play the violin, though I’m not a fan of performing.

I studied History at university, and that passion has never really gone away. I’m especially interested in nationalism and ethnicity, as well as the social history of the Middle Ages. Outside of that, I’m often at the cinema. My top four films are The Dreamers, Lost in Translation, Paris, Texas and Vertigo.

And when I’m not doing any of that, I like to keep a close eye on politics, it keeps me curious.

What’s your favourite food or meal?

Potato Pancakes with smetana!

What’s your favourite place to visit in Norfolk?

I love walking along the river in Norwich, it really calms me.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I am keen to travel to Slovenia, I find the cultural history fascinating, and it looks absolutely beautiful.
