Supporting Someone After Sexual Abuse or Sexual Violence

Supporting someone who has experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence can feel overwhelming. Whether you are caring for a loved one or friend, it can be difficult to know what to say, how to respond, and how best to help.

Our support pathway has been developed to give you the knowledge, guidance, and reassurance you need while caring for others. Through a combination of learning, connection, and emotional support, we aim to help you feel more informed and confident in your role.

Our pathway includes:

  • E-learning modules – flexible online learning to build understanding and practical skills
  • Online forum – a safe space to connect, share experiences, and learn from others
  • Peer support groups – professionally facilitated by a trained counsellor, offering support and shared understanding

You do not have to navigate this alone.

Accessing this pathway

This pathway is limited due to being a pilot and only available to those supporting someone who is currently accessing Sue Lambert Trust services. This limitation is in place to closely monitor the impact the pathway has on survivors

If you would like to access the pathway, please ask the person you are supporting to mention this to their Sue Lambert Trust contact (case worker, counsellor, group facilitator)
