There’s still time to support Sue Lambert Trust this Christmas with our 12 days of giving campaign. Here's how!

12 days of Christmas 2024

If you follow us on socials, then you will have seen our fab-yule-ous fundraising team talking about all the ways you can support our charity this Christmas.

Christmas is a time for giving, and we’re always grateful to all the kind, caring businesses and individuals who give what they can to support us.

Your generosity means we can be there for people in Norfolk who have experienced sexual abuse or sexual violence. And with demand rising, we need your support more than ever.

From small, low-cost donations to signing up for a once-in-a-lifetime fundraising challenge, here are 12 ideas to make our Christmas wishes come true!

1) Host a Christmas Jumper Day

Wear your brightest, most cheerful festive knitwear and ask everyone in your office or friends on a night out to donate (we suggest £2 per person). Once you’ve collected, you can donate to us here.

No need to buy new. Swap festive jumpers with friends or family, or head to your local charity shop to find a jumper that shouts, ‘Merry Christmas’.

2) Send an e-card

Avoid the post office queues and save on stamps by sending a Sue Lambert Trust e- card this Christmas.

Click here and choose one of our seasonal designs, send to friends and family, and donate. One less Christmas task to add to your to-do list.  And, good for the environment too.

3) Add a star to our virtual tree

Spread messages of kindness, hope and say thank you to the team at Sue Lambert Trust, who listen, believe, and support survivors all year round.  And add a star to our digital tree (no needles to vacuum either, bonus!)

Any donation you can make will help us to continue to provide counselling and support services, to our clients, for free.

Add your star here.

4) Plan a Joy-ous January night out

December can be festively frantic, leaving January falling a bit flat. We’re not having that!

Join us at the Bowling House, Norwich, Thursday 30th January for our joy-ous January fundraising event.

Enter a team of 6, and one person goes free.  Food included. Sign up here.

5) Is 2025 the year you tick off a bucket-list wish?

We are going BIG with our 2025 fundraising challenges. Is next year the year you’re going to tackle a fear head-on or go for it, and fulfil a lifelong ambition?

We need courageous fundraisers to sign up for a sponsored skydive, abseil or wing walk – is that you?

Places are limited, so if these activities are on your bucket-list, sign up quick! Email lou@suelamberttrust.org if you dare!

6) Shout out for silent auction prizes

We’ll let you into a secret.  We’re planning a silent disco fundraiser for next year.  And alongside it, a silent auction too.

Could you or your business donate a prize for the auction?  Something special that will help our charity to raise lots through the lots.

Our clients have bravely broken their silence and asked for our support. Now we’re shouting out to ask for donations and prizes, so we can raise money for the essential, life-changing support we provide.

7) Make Sue Lambert Trust your Charity of the Year 2025

This is one for the business community – we need ongoing, long-term support from corporate partners to fulfill our More Room to Care aims.

2024 has been tough for the charity sector, and we’re struggling to keep up with the rising demand for our services.

But no doom and gloom here, it’s Christmas and we’re looking ahead to a bright, positive future.  Because without us, where do survivors turn?

We want to double the number of counselling appointments we can offer over the next 5 years.  And we have plans to move premises in 2025 so we can build capacity, be more resilient and be there for more people.

By making Sue Lambert Trust your Charity of the Year for 2025 your business will be showing solidarity and support for people living with the trauma of sexual abuse and sexual violence?

Contact us to start your partnership with us today and learn how it can benefit your business and team.

8) A crafty Christmas

Crafting groups are one of the ways our clients can access our therapeutic group sessions.

Meeting with other survivors, crafting together, talking, smiling, relaxing, and getting to know people who understand each other is one of the ways we support our clients on their healing journey.

These groups are very productive, and the crafting groups get through a lot of supplies.

Can you buy them a yarn of wool or watercolor paints so they can continue to benefit from the groups?

Support them in a couple of clicks. We’ve written the Amazon wish list here.

9) 10 for 10

12 days of Christmas, and now 10 for 10!

The numbers keep coming!

We need 10 kind-hearted sponsors for 10 new counselling rooms.  Businesses, individuals, teams of people, a collective of small businesses, please get in touch if you want to play a big part in making 10 new counselling rooms a reality in 2025.

Your name above the door would show everyone that you support our work, and support people who have been brave enough to speak out about sexual violence and sexual abuse.

Contact Patsy to sign up as a 10 for 10 sponsor.

10) Run, don’t walk, into 2025

Lace up your trainers in the new year and sign up for a half or full marathon, and secure one of our charity spots in the Blickling spring half marathon (16 March) or the Norfolk full or half marathon (13 April).

Get sponsored for every mile and cross the finishing line knowing you’ve supported sexual abuse survivors, living here in Norfolk, get the professional, specialist, counselling support they need.

Sign up now. Find out about the races here, and all our other fundraising events too.

11) Gifts in kind

Dear Santa, the Sue Lambert Trust team have worked hard all year round and would like toilet rolls, coffee and tea this year.

Really? Yes!

If you’d like to give our team a gift, they’d be extremely grateful for any items or services that can help us invest what funding we have in doing what we do best – providing kind, safe, specialist support and counselling services to people living with the trauma of sexual abuse and sexual violence.

Wensum Print in Norwich kindly printed items for us for free this year, and the Soroptimists re-stocked the staff room with tea and coffee donations.

Your donations can event be loo-roll shaped!

12) Keep connected, all year long

And on the last day of our 12 days of Christmas we have one simple ask.

Get yourself on the ‘nice’ list by signing up to our newsletter.

It costs nothing but would be so valuable to us.

We won’t bombard you; we’ll email you every couple of months with news, explaining what we’re doing to help people to heal, and share all about our latest fundraising challenges.

Secure your sport on the ‘nice list’ here. Scroll to the bottom of the Get Involved page to add your details.

And to everyone who celebrates, we wish you a very Merry Christmas.
