Two women from Norwich will take on a triathlon challenge in June, raising money our Norfolk charity.

Roisin de Courcy Wheeler and Joanna Harding will compete in the Norwich triathlon on Sunday 23rd June. While seasoned triathlete Joanne hopes to achieve a personal best time, it will be a first time outing for Roisin who was persuaded to take part by her colleague and close friend.

The pair wanted to raise money for us to ensure we can continue providing specialist, therapeutic support and counselling services, to clients, for free.

Roisin explains; “Like so many charities, Sue Lambert Trust is plugging an essential gap in local mental health provision. Their services are constantly in demand, so if we can raise money to help someone to be offered counselling that little bit quicker or enable them to help more people, that would be great. I am also someone who has had to go outside of the NHS for mental health support so really value the work charities such as Sue Lambert Trust provide.

“The triathlon won’t be easy, it’s my first time running further than 5k, but the motivation will come from knowing we’re supporting a brilliant cause. We’re aiming to raise £500, which will fund 10 weeks of therapy for one person and means we’re doing something to help Sue Lambert Trust continue with its incredible work, making professional, therapeutic counselling services available to anyone in Norfolk who needs it.”

  • The Norwich Triathlon is on Sunday 23rd June 2024 at Whitlingham Broad, setting off at 8am, and consists of a 1.5km swim, 38km cycle followed by a 10km run.
