In this feature where we spend time getting to know some of the team that make Sue Lambert Trust who we are.

In this edition of getting to know… we interviewed Kirsty who has very recently joined the team as our Partnership and Development Officer.

Working life

1. What lead you to your role working at Sue Lambert Trust?

I have worked within the criminal justice system for many years and I wanted to move into supporting survivors, using my experience of working in multi agency teams supporting offenders to bring together charities with similar goals to enhance the support they can provide those that need it.  Working for a charity that supports survivors was important to me as I have seen the damage that trauma has on people and how the right support can make a huge difference in rebuilding lives.

2. How would you summarise your role at SLT?

My job is to bring together four charities that support survivors of sexual abuse, sexual assault and sexual violence across Norfolk, those charities being Sue Lambert Trust, Rowan Project (Breckland area), 121 Project (King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and North Norfolk areas) and Brave Futures (supporting children across Norfolk). All these charities have just formed a partnership and we are now looking at how we can work together to deliver the best support to all those that want to access it.

3. What do you like most about working for Sue Lambert Trust?

I have only been here a month but everyone has been so welcoming, and the team are so supportive of each other. Everyone also shares the common passion of wanting to support our clients to heal in the way that they want, putting the client at the centre of everything. The whole team are so inspiring.

Home life

1. What do you like doing in your spare time, what are your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I am a Treasurer/Trustee for my local Play Group which keeps me busy, and I also love spending time with my two young daughters and husband. On Fridays when I am not working and my children are at school I love sampling local afternoon teas with my sister and friends!

2. What’s your favourite food or meal?

Apart from an afternoon tea I love my Mum’s Sunday roast with all the family.

3. What’s your favourite place to visit in Norfolk?

Waxham in winter to see the seals, a Christmas Eve tradition for us.

4. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?

This is a tough one, there is so many places I would love to go, maybe to Kenya on safari is top of my wish list!
