As we move past the halfway mark of 2026, we'd like to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to every individual, organisation, business and community group that has chosen to support Sue Lambert Trust so far this year.
Every cake baked, mile run, event organised, collection tin filled and donation made has helped us continue our work – our aim is that every adult survivor of sexual abuse, sexual violence and rape across Norfolk can get timely access to our specialist support. Support that enables people to heal from this trauma and rebuild their lives.
Your generosity not only raises vital funds; it also raises awareness, starts important conversations and shows survivors that they are not alone.
And with funding cuts taking effect this year, which have sadly reduced our ability to take on new referrals to our services, we need your help more than ever to ensure as many people as possible can access the help they desperately need.
Your efforts, generosity and acts of kindness are never taken for granted.
- Every pound raised has an impact, because:
- 1 in 12 people in Norfolk will experience sexual abuse, rape or sexual violence in their lifetime
- We are contacted by between 85 and 90 new people – every month – bravely getting in touch, to ask for our support
- With current funding, we are only able to see 10 new clients per month
We want to be there for everyone who needs us in Norfolk, as soon as we can.
Thank you for supporting our charity. And through your actions, showing survivors that their lives matter.
Here’s a look back at some of the incredible fundraising efforts that have already made an impact this year.
CNA Hardy's International Women's Day bake sale raised £402 - thank you!
Six months of fundraising so far …
March: Baking up support
In March, colleagues at insurers CNA Hardy came together to organise a fantastic bake sale at Kingfisher House in Norwich to mark International Women’s Day, with generous support from Bidwells LLP, Birketts LLP and Acteon.
The lip-smacking event raised an amazing £402.
March: Anti-Pest Fest
One of the year’s most inspiring community events also came in March.
Live music event, Anti-Pest Fest, was held at Voodoo Daddy’s in Norwich, following a disclosure of sexual assault within the city’s music scene. Local artists Chicanes and Lara Price, with support from fellow bands The Winonas and Jakkels, organised an evening of live music to bring people together in shared solidarity with survivors.
The evening raised a fantastic £917.53.
April: Going the distance
Our supporters have certainly been clocking up the miles this year.
In April, Clare took on the Norfolk Half Marathon, smashing her original fundraising target of £250 by raising an incredible £916.
Then in May, supporters took on the Norwich 30/60/100 bike event. Clissie and Andrew completed 60 miles on a tandem bike, raising £345, while Phil conquered the challenging 100-mile route, raising £210.
Thank you so much for your gruelling efforts!
Clocking up the miles at the Norfolk Half Marathon - Clare more than tripled her fundraising target, incredible!
May: Taking fundraising to new heights
One of the highlights of the year was our brave team of supporters who abseiled down the towering Forum building in Norwich. Their courage raised an outstanding £3,630.44.
We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone who stepped over the edge, cheered from below or donated towards their fundraising total.
June: Community groups making a difference
This June, members of our team were delighted to speak to the Mother’s Union and Women’s Group at St Margaret’s Church Hall in Old Catton.
Following both talks, the groups generously donated a combined £228.
And we’re also incredibly grateful to Norwich Marchesi Rotary Club for their kind donation of £250.
Support from local organisations like this helps ensure we can continue delivering our specialist counselling and support services.
Ongoing: Creativity for a cause
The wonderful Soroptimist SIGBI of Norwich has raised an incredible £1,000 for us so far this year.
We’re also very grateful to artist Rory, who continues to host regular life drawing classes at the historic Carrow House in Norwich.
So far this year, these creative sessions have raised £130 to support our work.
